What are the hours for meter enforcement?
Parking meters are enforced Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
What should I do if the meter I park at is broken?
If someone experiences any difficulty with a meter they should immediately report the problem by calling Charlottetown Police Services at 902-629-4041 or 629-4089 explaining what the exact issue is - there is a technician with the Public Works Department that repairs the meters on a daily basis based on the complaints received by Police Services.
How do I appeal a parking citation?
Where a dispute or problem arises about an issued violation, this may only be dealt with by Charlottetown Police Services.
In Person: Persons wishing to dispute an issued violation must go to Charlottetown Police Services, 10 Kirkwood Drive, Charlottetown.
For your convenience, dispute resolution forms are available during regular business hours in the main lobby of City Hall. The forms may be completed and deposited in the City Hall Drop Box. A review of the information will be completed and notification made with respect to review outcome.
The Drop Box is located at the Front Door of City Hall, 199 Queen Street.
How soon after issuance must I pay a parking citation?
Meter Violations shall be reduced to $10.00 if paid within seven (7) days from the date of issuance. With the exception of Disabled or Blocking Sidewalk violations, if the penalty for other violations is paid within twenty (20) days from the date of the issuance then the amount shall be reduced to $35.00. If any violation is not paid within the allotted time then a summons will be issued and the penalty may be up to the maximum indicated plus service fees, towing charges and court costs.

Where can I purchase a monthly parkade and surface lot permit?
The Charlottetown Area Development Corporation (CADC) operates over 2,000 spaces within the surface lots and parkades. The parkades have both hourly and monthly parking. Visit www.cadcpei.com for information on monthly parking.
