• Affordable Housing Advisory Board
• Arts Advisory Board
• Civic Board for Persons with Disabilities
• Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Advisory Board
• Seniors Engagement Advisory Board
• Youth Engagement Advisory Board
The City of Charlottetown strives to create a diverse and inclusive environment. The recommendations brought forward from the Mayor provide a diverse membership that represents the communities they serve, capitalizing on the strengths and talents of those communities. Applications were accepted from the public and vetted using the Public Appointment Policy.
In 2018, City Council passed a resolution to form a Food Council. The general mission of the Food Council is to examine the operation of the existing food system and take action to improve it. The Food Council brings together individuals with different backgrounds, expertise, and perspectives to tackle issues within the food system using an inclusive and collaborative approach. The Food Council members work on community engagement, and policy and program development.
Applications for the Food Council were accepted and vetted through the Environment and Sustainability committee. Volunteer members of various backgrounds were chosen based on their experience working within some aspect of the food system, their ability to demonstrate a genuine interest in sustainability, a good understanding of food security, and a desire to contribute to the development of a sustainable food system within the region.
Meetings of the above mentioned boards are posted on the online meeting calendar along with the corresponding agendas under the Mayor and Council tab. The public is invited to attend the open sessions of these meetings.
