The Parade will begin on North River Road near Queen Charlotte Intermediate School and continue left onto Brighton Road before making its way down Euston Street, where it will turn right onto Great George Street, Grafton Street, and Rochford Street, and left onto Fitzroy Street where the parade will end.

Residents, businesses, and the travelling public are reminded that road closures will be in place along the parade route and adjacent intersections beginning at 9 a.m. and will reopen following the parade:

- Grafton Street from Great George Street to Rochford Street
- Rochford Street from Grafton Street to Fitzroy Street
- Fitzroy Street from Rochford Street to Terry Fox Drive
- Terry Fox Drive from Brighton Road to Kent Street

As a result of the above noted road closures, access to and from the area bordered by Euston Street, Great George Street, Grafton Street, and Rochford Street will also be restricted between 9 a.m. and approximately 12 p.m., including:

- Fitzroy and Kent Streets between Rochford and Great George Streets

In order to allow for the staging of parade entries North River Road between Belvedere Avenue and McGill Avenue, as well as Kirkwood Drive between North River Road and Trafalgar Street, will be closed to all traffic beginning at 7 a.m. with the exception of registered parade entries.

Motorists are asked to use extra caution and allow extra time when travelling in Charlottetown before, during and after the Gold Cup Parade which is scheduled to conclude at approximately 12 p.m. Residents, businesses, and visitors are reminded that accessing and leaving impacted areas of the city by vehicle will be limited during the parade; planning alternate routes is advised.

Charlottetown Police Services, City crews, and volunteers will be in place along the parade route and there will be zero tolerance for aggressive and assertive behaviour. Motorists failing to adhere to road closure infrastructure may be ticketed.

Parade attendees are encouraged to consider active or sustainable transportation such as walking, biking and carpooling. Parking is prohibited along the entire parade route from 12 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 16 until the conclusion of the parade. Vehicles parked within no parking zones will be towed without notice at the owner’s expense. To allow for the set-up of the float dismantling area, the P.E.I. Provincial Government parking lot off Terry Fox Drive will be closed to the public between 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15 through 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16. Public parking is available at the Culinary Institute of Canada, Pownal Parkade, Fitzroy Parkade, Peake’s Wharf Parking Lot and in designated street parking spaces outside of the parade route.

Pedestrians are reminded to stay off roadways as City crews reopen the roads as they follow the parade.

As a result of the road closures, several T3 Transit main routes will be suspended between 7:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m., with all services returning to their regular schedules after 1 p.m. Visit www.t3transit.ca to view a full list of schedule changes.
