Fire Department Hosts Carbon Monoxide Awareness Event

As part of Carbon Monoxide Awareness Month, the Charlottetown Fire Department is inviting the public and students from St. Jean Elementary School to an event to discuss the dangers of carbon monoxide.
This event is being held in partnership with the Hawkins-Gignac Foundation for Carbon Monoxide Education and Health Canada who are running similar events across Canada throughout the month of November.
Location: Fire Station 1 (89 Kent St.)
Date: Monday, Nov. 4
Time: 10-11:45 a.m.
The full event agenda will consist of the following:
• 10 a.m. – Arrivals, networking and free refreshments
• 10:30 a.m. – Opening remarks by Fire Officer from CFD
• 10:35 a.m. – Speaker: Maureen Robinson, Air Quality and Health Specialist from Environmental Health Program of Health Canada’s Atlantic Region Operations
• 10:45 a.m. – Speaker: Provincial Fire Marshal David Rossiter, CFD Chief Tim Mamye and Councillor Kevin Ramsay
• 10:55 a.m. – Speaker: John Gignac, Executive Director, Hawkins-Gignac Foundation for CO Education
• 11:10 a.m. – Presentation of alarm donation to Fire Department
• 11:20 a.m. – Question period
• 11:45 a.m. – Event concludes
