The City of Charlottetown has installed two secure bicycle lockers at the Fitzroy Parkade located at 130 Fitzroy Street. These bike lockers are now available to the public to rent.
The City of Charlottetown is striving to create a culture of active transportation in the city and promote healthy lifestyles for residents. Bike lockers can be very useful for commuters and residents by providing a secure and convenient place to store bicycles, protecting them from theft and weather damage. In addition, bike lockers can encourage more people to choose cycling as a mode of transportation. Overall, the use of bike lockers can help to promote a more sustainable and healthy lifestyle, while also offering practical benefits for cyclists.
The installed lockers are designed to hold one bicycle each, as well as bicycle gear such as a bike helmet and lock. Each locker has a unique key code to provide maximum security. The locker is designed to fit the standard proportions of a bicycle but will not fit all non-standard bikes.
Bike lockers can be rented for $20 per month on a first come, first serve basis. To rent a space in a bike locker, residents need to fill out an application form beforehand. Applications can be picked up at one of the Charlottetown Area Development Corporation (CADC) office locations listed below or by downloading the document linked here.
