Public Invited to Sept. 11 Memorial Service

The Charlottetown Fire Department will host a memorial service on Friday, Sept. 11, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center.
The public is invited to attend the memorial at Station 1, 89 Kent St., beginning at 11 a.m. The ceremony will include a moment of silence, a reflection featuring radio transmissions from the response to the attacks, and remarks and prayer from Fire Department Chaplain Paula Hamilton.
Following the memorial, the Charlottetown Fire Department will host a barbecue fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations will be accepted in support of the Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
