Charlottetown Mayor Philip Brown Today Issued the Following Statement about Small Business Week
Posted on 10/22/2024
“As we mark Small Business Week, it’s an opportunity to reflect on the vital role small businesses play in shaping the success of our Island’s economy and communities. Across Canada, over 98 per cent of businesses are small enterprises, and here in Charlottetown, they are the centre of our vibrant economy. From family-run shops and restaurants to innovative startups, our small business owners are key contributors to job creation, economic growth and the unique character of our city.
This Small Business Week, I encourage everyone to support our businesses by shopping local, spreading the word about their services and recognizing the hard work they do to keep our city thriving. When we support local and love local, we show appreciation for the passion and dedication that make our community unique and help secure a more prosperous future for our city.
Thank you to all our local businesses for your contributions, and Happy Small Business Week 2024!”
Philip Brown
Mayor of Charlottetown
