Celebrate the magic of the holiday season in Charlottetown with the City of Charlottetown's signature holiday activities!

Holiday Home Decorating Contest
Deadline to apply: Monday, December 2

Get out the Christmas decorations! The holiday home decorating contest is the perfect time to show off your holiday cheer with festive decorations on the exterior of your home or property. Entries will be judged the week of December 9 on the following criteria: use of natural materials, use of lighting, creativity, and overall design. Christmas Tree Lighting
Date: Friday, November 29| 6:30 p.m.
Location: Lou MacEachern Upper Plaza at Confederation Centre of the Arts (Grafton Street)


Join us for a magical evening of holiday cheer, featuring live performances by Alicia Toner, Dylan Menzie, and Inn Echo! Enjoy refreshments and a dazzling tree-lighting ceremony with Father Christmas himself, followed by a laser show to cap off the night.

The event begins with a candlelight promenade, departing from Founders’ Food Hall & Market at 6:15 p.m. Members of the public who wish to participate in the promenade are asked to meet outside Founders’ Food Hall & Market between 6 and 6:15 p.m. to pick up a candle. The walk will be led by the Confederation Centre of the Arts Intermediate Youth Chorus, who will sing Christmas carols as they lead participants up Great George Street, Victoria Row, Queen Street through the Victorian Christmas Market, finishing at Grafton Street in front of the Christmas tree.

The official Tree Lighting ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. on the Confederation Centre of the Arts Lou MacEachern Upper Plaza.

Charlottetown Christmas Parade
Saturday, November 30 | 5:00 p.m.
The Charlottetown Christmas Parade will return to the capital city on Saturday, November 30. For full information, including details on the parade route, donations of non-perishable food items, and the collection of letters to Santa along the route, visit www.charlottetown.ca/parade.
