Posted on 12/03/2024
“Today we recognize International Day of Persons with a Disability, an important day for us to celebrate the many contributions made by individuals with disabilities in our community and abroad, and to reflect on the work still needed to ensure a fully inclusive community for all.

In Charlottetown, we are committed to fostering a community where everyone, regardless of ability, can thrive. Improving accessibility in our public facilities and transit, promoting inclusion in all aspects of life and supporting the diverse needs of people living with disabilities is of the up-most importance. We are proud as a municipality to continue to enhance these improvements.

On this important day, we encourage everyone to reflect on how we can continue to break down barriers and create a community where everyone feels valued and respected. Let us take the time to listen to the voices of persons with disabilities and work together toward a future of equal opportunities and participation.

Thank you to all individuals and organizations who are working to make Charlottetown a more accessible and inclusive place for everyone. Together, we can build a future where all people, regardless of ability, can live with joy and full participation in community life.”

Sincerely,

Philip Brown
Mayor of Charlottetown
