The City's annual Fix-It Fair takes place every year during Waste Reduction Week. Keep an eye out on the City's social media for announcements on how you can participate in 2026.
This event is free and family friendly and includes the following elements: Repair Café, hourly workshops, and the Community Resource Hub! Take a look at the sidebar to learn about the free workshops that will be taking place! The Repair Café is a concept that communities throughout North America and Europe are embracing. It will feature talented fixers from a variety of expertise who have volunteered their services to assist in the free repair of various household items throughout this event. The role of the fixers is not only to repair broken items but to share their knowledge so participants can perform similar repairs at home. Participants can bring in one item (such as a small appliance or item of clothing) per person to be repaired by the skilled on-site 'fixers', free of charge. **CHECK OUT THE REPAIR CAFE DO's and DON'Ts BELOW!**
Acceptable Items Include: small household appliances, electronics, mechanical items (clocks, etc.), toys, small furniture, bicycles, clothing and other fabric wares that require mending, and more.
