City Seeking Volunteers for Tree Planting in Windsor Park
Posted on 06/24/2025
The City of Charlottetown’s Environment and Sustainability Department is inviting residents to roll up their sleeves and join staff as they complete the first phase of a major forestry project.

Date: Sunday, June 29, 2025
Time: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Location: Windsor Park, West of 3 Nanak Avenue, West Royalty

The Windsor Park forestry project is part of a 10-year restoration plan intended to help the City’s urban forest recover from the loss of over 12,000 trees as a result of post-Tropical Storm Fiona. More than 1,000 trees have been planted in Windsor Park this year, using new and exciting methods of urban reforestation. Trees from 25 different species will be planted, including maples, oaks, serviceberries and magnolias, all of which bring tremendous benefits to the community and contribute to a healthy ecosystem.

No experience is required to join the community tree planting, and all training and tools will be provided. Residents are asked to contact Taylor Dall, Environmental Project Coordinator, at [email protected]or 902-394-0013 with any questions.

This project is one of many habitat creation and restoration initiatives currently underway in Charlottetown. To learn more about this work, please visit our website.
