The City is expanding T3 Transit service in Charlottetown’s north end with the launch of two new dedicated routes servicing Winsloe, Hidden Valley, the Sherwood industrial area, and the Charlottetown Alexander B. Campbell Airport.
The existing north collector route will be replaced by two separate services, improving reliability and increasing service frequency for residents and commuters travelling to and from these areas.
"Reliable public transit is an essential part of a growing city," said Councillor Trevor MacKinnon, Chair of the Environment and Sustainability Committee. "By expanding service and improving access, we're making public transit a more convenient option for residents travelling to work, school, appointments and other destinations throughout Charlottetown."
The new routes include:
Route 11 – Charlottetown Alexander B. Campbell Airport and Sherwood Industrial Area
• Morning service every 30 minutes from 7:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.
• Additional midday trips, departing every hour from Royalty Crossing Mall from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
• Additional afternoon trips from 3:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., departing from Royalty Crossing mall
• Serves upper Mount Edward Rd., MacAleer Dr., the Charlottetown Alexander B. Campbell Airport, and the Minna Jane Drive Plaza
Route 12 – Sleepy Hollow, Winsloe, and Hidden Valley
• Morning service every 30 minutes from 6:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
• Additional midday trips departing from Royalty Crossing Mall at 11:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m., and 2 p.m.
• Additional afternoon trips every 30 minutes from 3:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
• Serves Gates Dr., Highfield Ave., Lower Malpeque Rd., Sleepy Hollow Rd., Stockman Dr., and Malpeque Rd.
The expanded service is designed to better serve Charlottetown’s growing neighbourhoods. The changes also support implementation of the capital region municipalities’
10-year transit plan.
The new routes begin operating Monday, July 27.
Transit riders are encouraged to use smartphone trip-planning apps such as Google Maps, Apple Maps, and the Transit app to plan trips using the expanded service. Riders can also view updated schedules, route maps and service information at
