Temporary Trail Closure in Victoria Park

Temporary Trail Closure in Victoria Park
Posted on 10/09/2026
The City of Charlottetown advises residents and trail users that a section of trail in the southern forested area of Victoria Park will be temporarily closed from Tuesday, Oct. 13 to Thursday, Oct. 15.

Crews will be using heavy machinery to remove various invasive species, including glossy buckthorn, Norway maple and Asiatic bittersweet. Trail users are asked to respect all signage and stay clear of work areas while crews are on site.

The area will be replanted the following week, with additional planting to be completed in the spring. This work is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to restore Victoria Park’s forest and create a healthier and more diverse ecosystem.

The City thanks residents and trail users for their patience. For more information, please contact the Parks and Recreation office at 902-368-1025.
