The City of Charlottetown would like to advise the public of two signature events taking place during the 2024 PEI Pride Festival that may cause disruptions to motorists travelling in the capital city this weekend.
Motorists are asked to take note of the following events:
• PEI Pride Parade: The annual PEI Pride Parade will take place on
Saturday, July 20 from 12-1 p.m. starting at the Provincial Government parking lot near Terry Fox Drive. The parade will travel along Euston Street, turning right onto Great George Street, Grafton Street, Rochford Street and left onto Fitzroy Street, where the parade will end. Road closures will be in place along the parade route and adjacent intersections beginning at
10 a.m. and will reopen following the parade.
• Rainbow Road Party: Formerly Pride After Dark, the Rainbow Road Party will take place on
Saturday, July 20 from 4–11 p.m. on Kent Street. In order to accommodate the event set-up and strike, Kent Street between Great George and Prince Streets will be closed to vehicle traffic, inclusive of parking, from
4 a.m. on Saturday, July 20 through 4 a.m. on Sunday, July 21. Short-term parking for guests checking into The Arts Hotel will be accommodated within designated parking spaces on Great George Street in front of Craft Beer Corner.
The City of Charlottetown thanks the public for their patience and cooperation and encourages everyone to take part in the festivities and to have a fun, safe Pride. Please visit
