The City of Charlottetown is thrilled to announce it has been selected as the host city for the 2027 Canadian Wrestling Championships (U23 & Sr, Jr Greco-Roman) and World Team Trials (Senior Non-Olympic Weights).
The national event will take place June 25–26, 2027, at the Chi Wan Young Sports Centre, in partnership with Wrestling PEI.
The event, also known as the U23 Championships, will bring together elite wrestlers from across the country as they compete for national titles and the opportunity to represent Canada internationally.
SCORE Charlottetown is an award-winning sport tourism initiative led by the City of Charlottetown that works to attract and host signature sporting events in the capital city—including the 2027 Canadian Wrestling Championships & World Team Trials. For several years, Charlottetown has ranked number one on the Canada Sport Hosting Index for cities with populations under 50,000, and sixth overall in the country, alongside major cities such as Montreal, Toronto, Quebec City, Edmonton and Ottawa.

Hosting the 2022 Canada Cup of Wrestling and the 2009 Canada Summer Games left P.E.I. with a legacy to be able to host high profile national wrestling events.”
