The City of Charlottetown will host two public Open Houses to share information and gather feedback on the Pre-Approved Housing Design Initiative, a new program aimed at creating ready-to-build housing designs that reflect community needs, streamline approvals and support diverse housing options.
Open House Schedule:
Wednesday, Nov. 26
5 to 7:30 p.m.
Simmons Sports Centre (Community Room), 170 North River Rd.
Thursday, Nov. 27
5 to 7:30 p.m.
Hillsborough Park Community Centre, 199 Patterson Dr.
Residents are also encouraged to participate in an online
Housing Design Preferences Survey.
The deadline to complete this survey is Dec. 7.
The City is seeking input to help shape pre-approved housing plans that are practical, attractive and aligned with sustainable development goals. Community feedback will guide the development of designs that support a range of housing needs, particularly in areas identified through the City’s recent
Housing Needs Assessment, which highlighted a significant gap in affordable rental housing.
