Trucks for Kids Fundraiser Returns

Trucks for Kids Fundraiser Returns to Charlottetown This September
Posted on 08/05/2025
The City of Charlottetown is once again teaming up with BGC Charlottetown to host the second annual Trucks for Kids fundraiser, a family-friendly event that gives children and families the chance to get up close to an exciting lineup of large vehicles including fire trucks, police cruisers, tractors and more.

Set to take place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Charlottetown Event Grounds (360 Grafton St.), this highly anticipated event promises an afternoon of fun, exploration and community spirit. In addition to the vehicle showcase, families can look forward to music, games, a BBQ and more.

Admission is by voluntary donation, with a suggested amount of $5 per person. All proceeds will go directly toward supporting programs for local youth through BGC Charlottetown.

“We’re thrilled to bring Trucks for Kids back for a second year,” said Charlottetown Mayor Philip Brown. “It’s a fun way for families to spend time together while supporting a great cause in our community.”

Last year’s event was a resounding success, drawing over 1,500 attendees and featuring more than 40 vehicles. Organizers are planning for an even bigger and better event this year.
“Trucks for Kids is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the important work our public works and emergency services teams do every day, while also creating a fun and memorable experience for families,” said Councillor Julie McCabe, Chair of the City’s Public Works Committee. “We’re proud to support BGC Charlottetown and the positive impact they have on our youth.”

BGC Charlottetown, formerly known as the Boys and Girls Club, is a local nonprofit charity whose mission is to provide safe support places where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life.
