Zoning and Development Bylaw Review

City To Host Open House on Zoning and Development Bylaw Review
Posted on 04/03/2025
The City of Charlottetown is conducting a review of its Zoning and Development Bylaw and is seeking public feedback.

The updated bylaw will serve as the regulatory framework for land use development in Charlottetown, introducing zoning categories and corresponding design guidelines. It will be informed and guided by the City’s Official Plan, which is currently pending approval. Public consultation is a key component of the bylaw review and residents are invited to attend a Public Open House to learn more and share their views on land-use zoning in the city.

Zoning and Development Bylaw Review - Public Open House
Date: Monday, April 7, 2025
Time: 5:30 – 8 p.m.
Location: Charlottetown Library and Leaning Centre, 97 Queen St.

As part of the City’s commitment to the federal Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF) program, the intended changes to the bylaw will focus on enabling a broader range of housing solutions and streamlining approval processes to reduce red tape associated with development approvals.
